Pre-nuptial agreements are contracts by which a couple decide in advance how their assets are to be divided in the event of a divorce or separation. They are not yet formally recognised by the Irish courts but can be taken into account by a judge. We have experience in the preparation of such agreements.

If a marriage does breakdown this inevitably causes emotional upheaval and can carry serious financial consequences for the whole family. There are now a number of dispute resolution processes available and in the event that an agreed solution cannot be reached the matter can be referred to court.

A couple may apply for a judicial separation or in the event that they have been separated for 4 out of the preceding 5 years, either party can apply for a divorce.

We can help you in all matters pertaining to family law, and will guide you through the issues skilfully and sensitively.
